TR Warszawa at UCLA Live Festival
T.E.O.R.E.M.A.T. directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna was presented 18th and 19th November 2009 in Los Angeles at UCLA Live, the most important theatrical event on the West Coast of the United States.
TR Warszawa’s visit to Los Angeles was an occasion for the American audience to meet with the ensemble. On 16 November a panel entitled Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Polish Theatre (But Were Afraid to Ask) took place at LA Central Library and was broadcasted live on the radio. The panelists were: Tom Sellar (theater critic, editor of Theater magazine and professor at Yale School of Drama), Richard Schechner (university professor, editor, theatre critic and director, one of the most outstanding personalities in the American experimental theatre), Grzegorz Jarzyna (general director of TR Warszawa and creator of T.E.O.R.E.M.A.T.) and Joanna Klass (founding director of Arden2 and organizer of the Year of Grotowski 2009). The debate was moderated by David Sefton from UCLA Live.
Danuta Stenka, Jan Englert and Grzegorz Jarzyna also met with the audience on 15 November at Helena Modjeska Art and Culture Club of Los Angeles.
Both the performance and the two meetings were part of the project Polish Theater Fall in California.
