Witkacy for fans of Quentin Tarantino. Grzegorz Horst, has created a screenplay based upon two plays by Witkacy: "Mister Price" and "New Liberation". The heroes are Europeans, who are looking for gutta-percha and strong emotions in the tropics. The heat is impossible to endure, mosquitoes bite mercilessly, the air is filled with the scent of opium and madness increases. In their narcotic visions the heroes become characters from a fantasy drama. Horst and his young cast present the world of drugs, big business and demonic sex while remaining wittily aloof. "Tropical Madness" is a pastiche of motifs from Witkacy and simultaneously an ironic play with temporary cultural motifs which show contempt for love and death.
