Popławska’s rivals for Best Actress Award are: Ewa Konstancja Bułhak for the leading part in „Lekkomyślna siostra” („Reckless sister”) performed in Teatr Narodowy and Sandra Korzeniak for the role of Marylin in „Persona” played in Teatr Dramatyczny.

The Feliks Awards will be officially given on October 26th and that is when we will learn the name of the artist awarded for career achievement.

According to the rules, only theatres from Warsaw can compete for the Feliks Award. The first award ceremony dates back to the season 1999/2000. Its originator and sponsor was Feliks Łaski, patron of the arts from London, who died in 2004. Since his death, it is TU Allianz Polska who sponsors the award.

Each year the ceremony is organized in a different theatre and Teatr Powszechny is this year’s host. The jury is composed of the members of ZASP (Związek Artystów Scen Polskich) and the artists from 10 major Warsaw theatres: Teatr Ateneum, Teatr Dramatyczny, Teatr Kwadrat, Teatr Narodowy, Teatr Polski, Teatr Powszechny, TR Warszawa, Teatr Studio, Teatr Syrena and Teatr Współczesny. The event is held under the patronage of the president of Warsaw, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz.
