Album on Grzegorz Jarzyna

A photo album dedicated to Grzegorz Jarzyna – “Jarzyna: Teatr/Theatre” comes out on 15 January. It is a joint publication of TR Warszawa and Agora S.A. in co-operation with Adam Mickiewicz Institute. In the album there are photographs taken by Stefan Okołowicz, Kuba Dąbrowski, Bartłomiej Sowa, Anna Grzelewska, Marc Enguerand, Gus Powell, Katarzyna Zajda, Weronika Szmuc and others. There can be also found photographs from the "Gazeta Wyborcza" archive taken by Jacek Marczewski, Albert Zawada, Bartosz Bobkowski and Robert Kowalewski. The director’s portrait on the album’s cover was made by Jacqueline Sobiszewski who is a theatre lighting director and Jarzyna’s co-worker.

The photographs are followed by texts written by Maryla Zielińska who publishes her articles in "Didaskalia" and "Dialog". She analyses all the performances that Jarzyna has made so far, starting from the famous TROPICAL CRAZE to the recent premiere of NO MATTER HOW HARD WE TRIED and including Jarzyna’s performances outside Poland.

The photographs are preceded by an interview with the director conducted by Agnieszka Tuszyńska, the artistic manager in TR Warszawa and Dorota Wyżyńska, culture editor in "Gazeta Stołeczna". The interview, entitled A journey, is a chronological account of his artistic career, his quest for inspiration and his work with actors.

A list of all the plays directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna concludes the publication. The album has been published in a bilingual – Polish and English – version.
